An Indian Idol spin-off, Indian Idol Junior is a reality television singing competition. It airs on Sony Entertainment Television. After going through the auditions, judges decide on the fate of participants, who further get the opportunity to sing in theater and gala rounds, and contest on the show. After a stint of two successful seasons in 2013 and 2015, the show is bound for a third season return. For now, take a look at the winners of Indian Idol juniors till date.
Season 1- Anjana Padmanabhan
The ten-year old from Bengaluru, Anjana Padmanabhan won the first edition of Indian Idol Junior. What was interesting to note is that she didn’t knew Hindi then, and yet, she emerged a winner and won millions of hearts with her melodious voice. For her rendition of songs, she had been thoroughly praised by the judges. In a star studded finale, she was crowned winner and received her trophy from Amitabh Bachchan. She Karan Wahi and Mandira Bedi hosted the show, whereas, music composers Vishal-Shekhar and Shreya Ghoshal were the judges of this season.
Season 2 –Ananya Sritam Nanda
Hailing from Odisha, Ananya Sritam Nanda at 13 years, emerged victorious on second season. She was eliminated in the theatre rounds of first season, but her determination was rigid, and look what she achieved on second season. Just recently, she released her independent single ‘Mausam Mastana’.This season was anchored by Hussain Kuwajerwala and Asha Negi. In the judges panel, Vishal Dadlani reprised his role and the new additions were Salim Merchant and Sonakshi Sinha.
