Airtel Super Singer Junior – Winners List of All Seasons – 1,2,3,4
When it comes to nurturing and polishing the talent associated with the younger generation, be it of any form, television reality shows are actually doing their part in the most righteous manner. The junior version of Super Singer, Airtel Super Singer Junior – Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal (the search for the sweet voice of Tamil Nadu) – is a singing reality show for kids which air on Vijay TV, the most popular Tamil Channel of the Star Network sponsored by ‘Bharti Airtel’. The show premiered in 2007 and the permissible age group for participation is 6-14. Young guns from all over the state rush to the audition venues in order to showcase their singing skills. The selection procedure is rigorous and does the quintessential job of separating wheat from the chaff through the multiple stages involved with the audition process.
Since its inception, the show has tenure of three seasons as of now, and today, with this article, we will shed light on the juniors who emerged victorious through the seasons.
Season 1 – Krishnamoorthy
The first edition of the reality show is often cited as one of the one most competitive, and Krishnamoorthy emerged as winner after a hard-sought victory over the vibrant Vignesh. Notable singer Chinamyi (who also hosted the first edition of Super Singer) hosted the show and K. S. Chithra and Usha Uthup were the judges for the season. Today, he is often spotted doing live concerts and shows all across the globe.
Season 2 – Alka Ajith
Born in a family of musicians, Alka Ajith was the winner of the second season which premiered in 2009. She gave her first public performance when she was two and a half years old, and cut her first audio album “I Love My India” at four. Your ears would find it difficult to believe that she has sung more than 5,000 songs before she turned seven. Her talent and versatility knows no bounds and she can sing in more than 11 languages.
Season 3 – Aajeedh Khalique
The winner of the third preface of the show was Aajeedh Kalique. He received his trophy from the composer of legendary stature, A R Rahman. Midway through the show, he was eliminated, but thereafter, he made a comeback as a wildcard entrant. Despite not having a trained classical background, his immaculate choice of songs during the course of the show helped him lift the trophy.
Season 4 – Spoorthi
Owner of a soulful voice and blissful smile, the winner of the fourth season of the singing reality show, Spoorthi was chosen as a direct finalist by the judges prior to the wildcard entry rounds, along with the runner up Haripriya. She delivered top-notch performances throughout the season, stole the hearts of judges and audiences, and was crowned winner amidst the presence of actor Dhanush and composer Shankar Mahadevan. The season concluded in 2015, and we can’t wait for the next season until we witness the upcoming singing sensation.
